| The DVLA has unveiled a new campaign highlighting the importance of taxing vehicles on time.
Titled Nobody Wins, the campaign introduces a new creative concept centred on “Clampy” – a downbeat, talking wheel clamp. Through this character, the adverts showcase the inconvenience and disruption faced by drivers whose vehicles are clamped after failing to pay their vehicle tax.
While the tone is light and humorous, the message is clear: neglecting to tax a vehicle can lead to real frustration, leaving drivers literally stuck. The campaign reinforces how quick and simple it is to tax a vehicle online, encouraging motorists not to take unnecessary risks.
Running across outdoor, audio and digital platforms, the campaign will continue until 31 March 2026.
Latest figures suggest that 98.7% of vehicles on the road are currently taxed. For those that are not, the DVLA can take enforcement action based on its records. |
