Consequences and fines
While flashing your headlights in violation of rules 110 and 111 doesn’t result in a criminal conviction, it can still be used as evidence in court. Additionally, warning another driver about a mobile speed camera may violate section 89 of the Police Act (1997). This offence, which involves “wilfully obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty,” can lead to a criminal conviction and a maximum fine of £1,000.
